How much money do the graduating students spend?

Nowadays, the graduating students are spending too much money on their ‘Bell Day’ celebration. It’s very shocking to find out how much money these students are expected to spend on in Mongolia.
According to research of university’s students, the costs, for the less well-off students, run to about Tg300,000 (nearly US $300), which is close to three times the minimum wage and well over the average salary of a professional working person. As most students are still financially dependent on their parents, this is an enormous expenditure.
An expensive new deel (traditional garment), the new jewelry and party-clothes, the excursion by bus to famous sites around the city, giving gift to school or teacher and the three-day party in the countryside make up most of the costs.

Although some more sensible students find the expense unwarranted, they are under extreme pressure to participate in the long festivities, fearing exclusion from the class circle if they do not conform.
Time to celebrate with classmates at the end of one's university studies is certainly important; the three days of drinking and dancing at a camp in the countryside are not. The result is a hang-over and a large hole in the pocket of those for whom the tuition itself had been a major expense. Pressure on graduating students to spend a year's tuition on a 3-day bash is short-sighted. Perhaps the student committees at the universities could suggest more sensible and simplified festivities and thus reduce the costs. I am sure that many students would welcome a change.

Buddha

hi all! i think mine is the last. Sorry about this. I don't have the internet connection at my home, so i'm posting from my aunt's home. I'd like to tell you that why I am writing about Buddha. 1st I'm a religious person, I pray with Buddha , 2nd now we have a lesson named philosophy, Buddhism is a part of the Indian philosophy. May be it can help a little to our philosophy knowledge,.

Buddha means awakened one, who has awakened from the sleep of ignorance and sees things as they really are.
The 1st Buddha who is the founder of the Buddhist religion, is called Buddha Shakyamuni (Mongolians called Shagjamuni) . He was born in 624 BC in Nepal as a royal prince. The King gave the name ‘Siddhartha’ to his young prince with full wishes.
In fact, he knew about sixty four different languages with their alphabets and also was very good at maths, sports, arts ..etc.
Sometimes young prince would go into the capital city to see how the people lived. During these visits, he saw many old, sick, poor people and a corpse. It left a deep impression to his mind. After that, he always thought about this and he resolved to leave the palace. Then he requested from his parents: ‘I wish to retire to a peaceful place in the forest where I can engage in deep deep meditation and quickly attain full enlightenment.
But the king didn’t accept it. So he escaped from the palace.
Then he found suitable place for meditation. It was sitting under the Bodhi tree.
Siddhartha had been concentrated for many years with many disturbing things such as demons, people who didn’t accept him. .
Finally he reached the limit of mind concentration he became a Buddha, a fully enlightened being.

Would you want to be famous?

Hello everybody! I'm Boroldoi. I'm sorry about being so late, because i was disappointed how does the blog work! Also i guess, my post'd became like a raw fish! So, i'll do my best from next time. ; )

“Would you want to be famous?, Why or why not? ”

Of course, I want to be famous and have everybody acknowledged me. Indeed, that’s part of my future plan to become famous!! Why? Because there is a lot of diversity among people, some of them are shy and talk with nobody, and some are very active. As for me, I hate being lonely or alone. I liketo talk with others nonstop, share my mind and be with people the all time. Otherwise, I believe that the honour of being famous leads to more social activities, so that famous people can be with full of energy, communicate with others in many ways, and of course, never feel lonely just as I want. Surely, there are some troublesome things about being famous, such as high level of stress, short sleep-time and so on. But that pain is almost nothing against my passion.

Music

Hello all ! First of all, I want to apologize to all of you for posting too late. It’s my fault. I won’t do it again. ;)

What is the music?

Well, everyone has their own answers. Wikipedia says that, music is an art form in which the medium is sound organized in time. Common elements of music are pitch, rhythm, dynamics, and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture. It is a definition of music but it can be different.

As for me, music is always with me. Every morning, I happily wake up with the music of my alarm clock. After washing, eating and getting ready to go to school, I leave my home with my I Pod. I listen to my most favorite songs while I walk. During the whole busy day, I listen to many kinds of music everywhere. In the evening, after dinner, I also listen to music on TV, computer and radio.

Music can make me feel sorrowful, cheerful and lively. I like to listen to light music when I have some trouble or feel sad whereas I like to listen to quick and heavy music when I need energy. I always admire the talent of great composers and artists. I always wonder how they could compose that great melodies which can make people feel something special.

So do you love music? Have you ever felt much better after listening to music when you were sad ? Have you ever felt more energetic after listening to your favorite melody?
Everyone will answer “Yes”, I think. But everyone defines music differently. Everyone has different thoughts about it. Even the sound of wind can be considered as music. Music can be anything, if only you consider it as music.

No matter how you define the music, I am sure that It can give you everything. Life is full of wonderful things and if you can find and get it, your life will be full of happiness and wonderful things too. And remember, one of them is the MUSIC.

Here I have some interesting quotes and sayings about music. Please enjoy it.

  • Music is the mediator between the spiritual and the sensual life. ~Ludwig van Beethoven

  • You are the music while the music lasts. ~T.S. Eliot

  • Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. ~Victor Hugo

  • I have my own particular sorrows, loves, delights; and you have yours. But sorrow, gladness, yearning, hope, love, belong to all of us, in all times and in all places. Music is the only means whereby we feel these emotions in their universality. ~H.A. Overstreet

  • He who sings scares away his woes. ~Cervantes

  • Music is what feelings sound like. ~Author Unknown

  • Music is the poetry of the air. ~Richter

  • There is nothing in the world so much like prayer as music is. ~William P. Merrill

who is the winner

Do you know how athletes reach the success ? It`s obvious that everyone knows the main things to win are lots of training , experience and own ability. But that are the inner reasons I think, so isn`t there any outside reason to influence the victory?
Suppose there were two wrestlers who have exactly same ability and experience. In this situation who do you think would win? Or why there would be one winner. Maybe the winner had used spell or magic. And there could be millions and millions guesses that you can make. Whatever your guess, researchers say the winner would be the wrestler who wore red costume. But how they know it? Scientists of DURHAM university, Great Britian, have proved that the athlete who wears red costume has more chance to win than others who wear another coloured costume. They`ve surveyd the final result of Afin2004 olympic sports box, taekvondo, wrestling etc…. and 66 percent of athletes wearing red costumes won the their competitors. So what about team sports? They surveyd European Football Championship too. Teams had red costumes played more capable and made more goals than teams had white and blue costumes. In the scientists opinion the red colour increases athlete`s self confidence. And of course self confident athlete can succeed . therefore if you have to attend competition, do not forget to wear red clothes!

CHEWING GUM

Gum is our daily consumption. But we don’t know more about gum’s ingredients and effects that affects to our body. Bubble gum was discovered by The Inventor Thomas Adams and assistance of Mexican General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna in 1869. Most interesting thing is it was just a complete accident. At first General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna was looking for rubber substitute.

But he found chicle that is ingredient of chewing gum suddenly. So he contracted Thomas Adams. A dams wasn’t able to make sap work as a substitute for rubber, but he thought that to use chicles in gum base. Then modern gum was invented. It was named “chiclets”. William J. White was a former popcorn salesman and he invented addition of flavoring.
Each gum has their own recipe that makes them different from the others. The ingredients are company’s secret. Some common ingredients are: powdered sugar, gum base (it makes the gum able to be continuously chewed again and again), glucose syrup, softeners, flavoring, sweeteners and coloring. Gum base formed from natural resins like sorva and jelutong. The flavors are also made from fruits and spices.

Having good influences in gum was proved already. So why do gums have bad influence? In my opinion it depends on gum’s quality and our habits. If gum consists of toxic substance (example: many sugar, chemical coloring substance etc) which is in your mouth, it will affect badly for your health exactly. Mostly kids love to chewing gum. But some of them have bad habit that is chewing all the time. So the action of chewing will influence badly for their stomach I think. But the theory that is an action of chewing stimulates a part of brain called hypothalamus which releases hormones which serve to keep us alert, was proved. Chewing gum burn up to 1000 calories a day. Also it can fight bad breath, protect our teeth from decay like a toothpaste. So gum has more good influences than bad influences.

Some interesting facts about gum:

- Philadelphia grocery store sold the first 5 pounds of Double Bubble for one penny a piece. The store sold out within hours.
- Double Bubble was included in ration kits for American soldiers serving in World War II.
- The biggest bubble ever, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, was 22 inches in diameter.
- Scientists found a 9000 year old wad of chewing gum in Sweden.
- North American kids spend about a half-billion dollars on bubble gum every year, which translates to 40 million pieces every day, 1.6 million every hour, 26000 every minute or 444 pieces per second.
